Blue Morpho Butterfly Cyanotype Bandana
These one-of-a-kind sunprinted sweethearts are made to order. The Blue Morpho Butterfly design is based on the less-admired backside of a blue-morpho’s wings with the eyespots. This part of the wing allows the blue morpho to camouflage itself in foliage and appear like a predator (with those big eyespots that look like owl eyes!) so as to not get eaten. In this composition, you’ll also notice a bit of ethereal ambiance; using film negatives of my pictures of spider webs, I collaged tiny pebbles from Gichigamiing (Lake Superior) into the images. All floral and plant details were created from real plants found in my backyard or recycled from bouquets, so they were sustainably gathered.
Very faint variations in printing may occur due to sunlight exposure times. Dimensions approximately 24"x24". Comes in a branded PsyanoForest cotton drawstring bag for safe storage and travel.
